Amazing that this overlooked when you consider the size of the investment. Cost is usually around $750 which is a pittance but an essential process whether the property is old or not.
We have just suggested the builders and pest inspection to one of our clients for a 10 year old building which they thought may might be OK given it’s age. The report was generally good , however it identified a number of maintenance items of a minor nature and put a cost estimate on them. They were not needed immediately but the client was able to budget for them. The most important find was that ” blow in ” insulation was heaped around light fittings creating a possible fire hazard! Handy to know and something to be rectified prior to occupation.
