As the auction selling season draws to a close (Dec.14th) we are receiving many calls from agents endeavouring to effect “OFF MARKET” sales.

Some vendors have left their run too late to have the standard 4 Saturday auction campaign, others are planning to go to the market in February with campaigns starting in mid to late January.

All would like to sell sooner rather than later so they are contacting agents with the request that “if you have a buyer please let us know”. What follows is agents go to their databases and email or telephone buyers in the price range.

The current market can be described as “patchy”.

Properties in the price range up to $1.7 million are selling like hot scones both at private sale and auction. In the range $2 to 3 million they are selling more slowly. Over that it is hard work in many cases with some properties taking many weeks to sell.
